This wizard will guide you through the process of inserting a freesite into Freenet. Here in the left window you will see descriptions for the fields to enter in the right part of the window. You will also get the most basic information about how freenet manages freesites.

If this is your first freesite, I suggest you to read each text completely before succeding to the next step. If you have inserted lots of freesites yet, you might know what the fields are for and so step through the process faster.

You can get more background information about Freenet on the `Nubile' and on the `Freenet explained' freesite. You find the link to the latest editions of them on `The Freedom Engine'.

I expect from you that you have a directory where your freesite is in -- in HTML format. Plain HTML -- not too many effects, as they could be filtered by Fproxy's anonymity filter. The start page should be index.html. You can use special "tags" starting with #$# in it - more information about that later.

Okay, let's start now.

First you have to ensure that freenet is running. There is no internet connection necessary at the moment, but just one to your Freenet node (for generating SSKs, for example). I will tell you when you have to go online.

So enter the hostname/IP and the port of your node's FCP interface (in Windows, you find it in the Config dialog at Advanced Settings - default is 8481). If your freenet node is running at this machine with default settings, you do not have to change anything.

There is also a basic form of "Load balancing" available - enter more than one hostname separated by pipes (|) to enable that. These hosts will be served round robin - however, all connections will be handled as if they were to only one host - so there will be only one simultaneous FEC encoding, even if you specify more than one host.

Then click the Check button. You should see something like "NodeHello" in the lower right text box. If you see "Could not connect to host", ensure that your node is running properly and that you did not make a typo in the host/port settings.

Correct settings will be saved for the next session.

If you want to continue with the wizard, click "Next >>" now. If you want to select another GUI or Look&Feel [not implemented yet], click "<< Back" instead.
